As the UK heads towards coming out of its third lockdown, I want to reassure my clients and any potential new clients about what I’m doing to make sure my treatment room is Covid secure.

I am a member of both the Federation of Holistic Therapists and the Association of Reflexologists, and as such I will be following their guidelines closely to make sure that I and my treatment room are safe and hygienic.

This will include:

• Allowing more time between clients so that I can thoroughly clean down the treatment couch and other equipment, and to air the room completely.

• Weather permitting, I will be providing treatments with a window slightly open to allow fresh air to enter the room and to keep the flow of air in the room moving freely. Don’t worry though, this won’t impact on how comfortable you feel. I was doing this in December before we went into lockdown and my clients were still perfectly warm and comfortable!

• All soft furnishings are sprayed with anti-viral spray between clients and all hard surfaces and equipment is wiped down

• I will ask as many health questions and follow up questions by phone beforehand, to reduce the time spent in face-to-face consultations. However,, this will not detract from the time my clients need to spend talking to me if they so wish.

• I will be wearing an apron for all my treatments, which I will change between clients to prevent any risk of cross infection. Where necessary I will also change my uniform between clients.

• I will also be wearing a mask and a visor during the treatment. As a client you will also be asked to wear a mask, unless you have an exemption / reason why you can’t.

• I will wash my hands before I begin the treatment and will use a hand sanitiser before, during and after the treatment as well. I will also ask you to use a hand sanitiser or gel before you enter the treatment room.

• We will remain 2 metres apart throughout the consultation and during the treatment I will only be working on your feet.
